Something Positive
Something Positive
Hi beautiful friends, my life savers! I have been away from the site for a while, but reading anonymously for the last week or so, and it seems to me like we need a tab for "Positive Outcomes" or something like that. Just stories of hope and/or success after being the victim of a narcissist.
It saddens me that all of our experiences are so similar..some worse than others. But there is hope and a silver lining if you figure out how you let this happen to you (DO THE WORK) and stay NC.
I am now 51, but after my D&D, I truly thought my life was over (and I nearly made that happen) and my oldest son was not far behind me..
SO HAPPY TO REPORT THIS IS FAR BEHIND US:)
My son (who has Tourette Syndome) has been accepted to a major University in the northeast, where most of the broadcasters from ESPN have graduated from. He is happy, well adjusted and thriving!! A gift to my heart! :)
I am also happy and thriving! Throughout my journey I have found I have great boundaries with people who I don't love, but for those I do love (e.g. my parents, siblings, exH, and exN) it has been a process, but I am doing much better! This experience has been a blessing for me..weird to say, but true:)
I am finally me...I love me for my strength, my beauty, my intelligence, my silliness, my dorkiness, my less than thin figure
.
My favorite quote is, "Don't you dare, for one more second, surround yourself with people who are not aware of the greatness that you are.". Oh, and one more, "You never know how strong you are until strong is the only choice you have".
Saturday is my first belly dancing class...Yay!!
