Scriptures?
Scriptures?
A very important source of guidance, wisdom, correction, and inspiration for me the many years I was in my marriage was the Bible.
It helped me first, in a practical sense, to "grow up" mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and then to grow into the awareness of who I was married to which eventually gave me the courage to get out.
Now, with the freedom to move, act, think, emote, learn, grown, and continue on in my new life, I access it for the kinds of issues raised in this "chapter".
I believe there are others on this site who attune to scriptures, too. I would like to start this thread for what others have come across in their readings that have inspired, encouraged, and strengthened them.
I will start with this, from Proverbs 12:18: "Reckless words pierce like a sword but the tongue of the wise brings healing" (NIV). I came across this early on after I left him last year, and it affirmed what he was doing and had been doing to me with his cruel accusations, put-downs, and contemptuous remarks, as well as affirming the need for me to continually access "wise words" of counsel, support groups, sites such as this and and so on.
Of course, through the years and through each issue from which I had to extricate myself toward my deliverance and recovery, there have been perhaps thousands of "good words."
What about anyone else? What "the word" for you today, or from another day of import?
