funny... I just commented on this article over on another thread because I LOVED this article at the time I was abandoned. I am ever so grateful that he found another woman to wear my diamond ring and to become his third wife and be special! :-) This article has really stuck with me too.

I read this article and couldn't feel more used! it's all very true and I want to break contact so bad to rip his face off and punch him. I want to send this article to him and every woman he meets. It's hurtful and the truth! It hurts like hell

Time really does show you how special you are. I think time is really the only thing that does - when enough time passes and you realize he did to you everything he claimed he never would. I knew the N for 13 years - involved deeply for at least 7 - worked for him - he's the longest reference on my resume. Sent him an email saying I gave his name as a reference. Email back from him- "how are you?" Well I am unemployed and have been for 8 months and trying to support my child on my own - how do you think I am - I respond "I've been better" his email back "Same" Yes, that certainly is the response I would expect from someone who was not only my best friend, but my everything for years. Think about it - how would you respond to a friend's statement "I've been better" wouldn't you ask if there is anything you could do - wouldn't you offer to help in someway? But I know better - I have learned - not only am I not special, I am nothing.
