TRO/cease&desist letter and NC??

Hi friends. My exN is persisting with hoovers: five calls to my office phone and an email yesterday. He makes contact every two weeks or so via email. My work email does not have a blocking function...believe me, I've tried and even talked to IT about it. My office phone does have caller ID so I will be able to avoid him this way. I have changed my cell phone number, blocked him on all other email accounts, moved towns, and gotten off of online social networks. Phew.

However, I'm irritated by how my focus veers off course with each of his attempts to make contact. I have maintained NC for 50 days now, so I am staying strong. My friends have suggested that I pursue a TRO or have an attorney send him a cease and desist letter.

I am anxious about doing either and I'm not sure if my reasons for being so are 'clean:' if it is still the addiction talking or if I do have valid objections to making this step?

1. He is definitely a 'shame-based' narcissist, so I think a TRO (delivered at his place of employment) could potentially set him off. A respected attorney warned me of this the LAST time I broke up with him (when stalking and threats occurred).
2. Any contact is food for him, so even if the letter came from an attorney, I could see him laughing at my attempt and doing whatever he wants anyway. Rules and laws mean nothing to him--especially not in this case, when we are dealing with what he thinks is HIS PROPERTY, namely, me. (This really sounds like him.)

I'd love to hear from you what your advice might be? Do you have experience with TROs/C&Ds with narcs and what happened? Additional info: this guy qualifies as a psychopath, so he's extra 'special.' Blech. Also, call me out on any addiction-sounding talk/thinking!!!
