A 'Touch' of Narc

This forum gets me thinking about some of the most off the wall stuff when it comes to the ex.

I am a huge believer that a person's emotions are communicated in their most raw form through their touch. They can spew any verbal b.s. they want, but their touch never lies.

When we were together, hugs from him were like hugging someone at a business conference. No feeling, very mechanical and awkward and he NEVER initiated it. Or when passing me in a tight spot, he'd practically become one with the wall to get past me without touching me. No public affection, ever. He was one of the most unaffectionate people I've ever known.

AFTER we split, however, I ran into him a few times (before I knew about NPD and went NC) and he would initiate the hugs - IN PUBLIC - they were very warm, very comfortable and very affectionate - I had NEVER felt that coming from him before. And that's not something you can fabricate - that's genuine feeling from someone who never exhibited this warmth in the 7 years prior.

I've never been able to wrap my mind around what that was all about. Anybody else have this happen?
