self harm

They create drama and self mutilation could be thought of as drama. there are people who cut themselves or mutilate themselves to get attention or to feel relief from some internal stress but they are usually teenage or younger women. He might have hit his head when he was drunk, didn't remember, so he made up an interesting story. Very few people would cut so near their eye. Maybe he was mugged or someone hurt him and he didn't like to be the victim-they make victims they don't like to be victims. He sounds like someone you don't trust and the story is just another example of why you don't trust him. It is best to stay away.

I have been involved with 2 N's. Both hurt themselves to get attention when I said their game was over and wouldnt let them back in. The first hit himself in the face and said he was mugged at the train station. The second one jumped out of my car while it was still moving. This gives them the sympathy they need. See? I am REALLY hurt and need your help! Maybe mine were not standard N's, but I'm pretty sure they were. Both incidents were very extreme, yet neither one was very hurt. It was a desperate move on their part. When I didnt fall for these things, they took their wounded selves to others and said.."see what she made me do?" For sympathy and to manipulate others. The one who jumped from the moving car said I pushed him! haha! That would have been impossible!

i have a friend who is doing an internship to be a therapist. she said sometimes a person with a mental disorder may cut themselves as a way to feel when they feel nothing at all. she said it lets them feel something. she had asked me if my ex was cutting himself or looking for ways to harm himself.

I have never heard of a Narc self-harming. Ever. And they are, for the most part, colossal cowards. I would guess that depends on the individual narc. The one I knew took great care of himself physically and only put what he perceived to be the healthiest foods into his body as he wanted to remain as active as possible for as long as possible. I could never see him harming himself deliberately in a million years, not even for attention. Rosy
