sad song flashback

Today I heard this song from my childhood...i can remember being very young and crying when I heard this song. It's not that it reflected my life in any real way, it was just so sad. It would make me feel so hurt and empty inside when I heard it.

It's about a woman who leaves her family to fulfill her own desire to ride the rodeo. When I would hear this song I would think about how sad it is that some people are so selfish they would make plans, build a life, start a family with another person and then leave to do what they want with no worry about what it does to the other people.

Oh sometimes I think about you
and the way you used ride out
in your rhinestones and your sequins
and the sunlight on your hair
and oh the crowd will always love you
but for me i've come to know
that everything that glitters is not gold

Dan Seals.."Everything that glitters is not gold"

This song is about a first class NARCISSIST. My narcissist made me feel...in real life...the way I did when I would hear this song as a kid. I had forgotten all about that until today.

triggers

Oh, they're everywhere...and music can be very triggering. I just can't listen to love songs anymore. My cynical side says all that love song sh** is a big lie...LOL. One day I'll lighten up, but for now, not big on music. Sorry that made you feel badly, beachcolors. Keep doing nice things for yourself when you're feeling a bit down, it really helps.

Me too, quietude. All that

Me too, quietude. All that moon in June starlight in your eyes sounds like all bs to me right now. I trust my body and brain knows what it needs to heal. Love songs? No. I dont think so. lol
