Psychopath/Narcissist

...because I could prove that so much of what he said to be true about who he was, what he owned, things he had done were lies. And he lied all the time. Many things he lied about were a matter of public record. I am sure he knew I could find out the truth (and that was part of the game for him). Other things I found out through common friends. When I was researching pathological liars, I found information on narcissism and started reading up on that. I had never heard of it before. He fit the bill perfectly. After I ended it with him and started therapy, my therapist was the one who told me - in my first session - that he was a psychopath and that I had PTSD. I started reading up on psychopathy (Barbara had suggested some excellent books) and realized he fit the bill for that, too. I had a hard time accepting that I had been involved with a psychopath. Very frightening stuff. I am still in therapy and I imagine I will be for a long time.

That spectrum only moves in ONE direction. From Narcissist to Socio/Psychopath as the predator become MORE exploitative. There is NO going back. And they take the Narcissistic traits with them as they move up that scale.
