Passive aggresive behavior or impulsiveness?

Do N/P's engage in PA behavior? Mine always seemed to be the nice guy, with occassional outburts, but I seemed to be raging all the time.

Or is it their impulsiveness? I see a shiny new toy and I want it.

His final email was so nice: "You are a beautiful woman and I know the right guy is right around the corner. But I saw Beth at the rally last night and I realize I couldn't make it work with you because I am still in love with her. (Never mind the fact that he was on the internet looking for new supply the entire time we dated or that he was meeting up with strangers for unprotected sex). I hope someday you can forgive me."

That was three days after he said he was in love with me and wanted to "devote" himself to me.
