Oprah's Lifeclass

Even though I didn't watch Oprah near the end of her reign on TV, I absolutely adore her new series called LifeClass. She takes guests from her last 20 years and the lessons that she learned from them and she has wrapped it all up in an awesome little package for her viewers.

It has coincided so much with my own healing. Lessons, aha moments, etc.... She has had lessons on letting go of fear and anger, hope, gratitude, and getting out of your rut. And tonight is "Love is not supposed to hurt". Can't wait to see it.

Please go to Oprah.com and look up Oprahs Lifeclass....there is a whole forum. IT's for people who are willing to look deeply insdie themselves for the hope of becoming a better person. It's healing!!!!!

Just wanted to share. :o)

No offense to oprah fans, I

No offense to oprah fans, I used to be one myself—I think she's a major narcissist. Can't watch her anymore.

I've been watching Lifeclass

I've been watching Lifeclass as well. It's been very inspirational for me. One of the shows that made a really big impact was the show that aired last night, "Love Doesn't Hurt." After experiencing my own abusive relationship with xnh, Oprah's words really spoke to me. Love doesn't hurt. She said that if it hurts, it is NOT love. This is so true. It is very validating and healing for me to realize (once again) that xnh's behavior was NOT love. It was all about control. Love does not hurt. The other episode that really touched me was "Letting Go Of Anger". The message is so true that we need to let the anger go because, if we don't, we are only allowing that anger/bitterness to take away something from ourselves. This is an area that I need to really do some work. I do not want my anger at xnh to define myself in any way, and my anger at him is only allowing him to have power over me. However, I somehow suspect that I need to go back, watch this again, and do some serious work about letting the anger go. The safety officer here at work announced that he is having fire extinguisher training, but he wanted to warn me that xnh was already signed up to attend. He gave me the option to attend as well or not. When he told me that they were actually having a real fire that we got to put out, I asked the safety officer if I could light xnh on fire so that I could use extinguisher on him. I pointed out that it would greatly improve my chances of attending the class knowing that xnh was going to be present. We both laughed. Ha. Ha. Funny. Funny. However, nope, I don't think I've let my anger go yet. This is one area that I apparently need to do some serious work on myself. rofl.

My two cents

She has really good self-help and other articles/advice on her website that *open your eyes* - there is a good article on forgiving yourself which is completely relevant in your recovery from a N. I have never been a big fan of Oprah, I have found some of her website material completely helpful. You have to be open-minded and listen to other peoples' wisdom/stories/outlooks as well as your deep, inner wisdom to advance in life, improve as human-beings and what we all are ultimately striving to heal. Oprah teaches us to see the BIGGER picture. In the end, the N will just be a minute speck in our amazing, glowing, beautiful lives. xx
