The Narc that cries?

I'm confused about one thing. I've only been reading up on NPD since July so please correct me if I'm wrong. Narcs have no feelings of empathy or compassion.... During the second and what I believe final discard for me in July after him contacting me to let him explain himself... Lies...He cried to me saying he's not sure if he's making a mistake divorcing me , worried about regrets and ever wondering if he'll find someone again that loves him unconditionally. My gut is telling me this is another one of his stellar performances...Am I right? I can only remember him "crying" a handful of times during our 11 years together.
