I am in NYC. I finally replaced the $70 coach keychain he bought me 3 years ago. I am making a trip to the Hudson river I throw it in!! Yeah!!! Another step. Number is changed servers are blocked!!
Good for you. there is nothing better than getting back control over your life. I knew a woman cop who was badly abused by her narcissistic co-workers, she got a better job, and went to the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco and threw her badge in SF Bay.She had to pay the City for the missing badge but said it was worth it. She said she would have liked to throw the 'boys' in but the badge was symbolic of that. She moved to oregon became a successful private investigator and the group of men who had harrassed her in San Francisco all came to strange ends; one shot his wife in front of her parents, one got AIDS, one died of alcoholisim, and one got caught with his hand in the 'cookie jar' and was fired and almost went to jail. She went on to buy a great house, make friends, own her own business, and she married and had children. Users and abusers always end up losers.
Yes I can't wait to get rid of it. Next is my engagement ring. I am trying to sell it. It's in a window on 61st and 1st. His gifts were all given as a way to make up for what he was doing behind my back. I hate him. It is a. Great motivator for the marathon though. Yeah!!!
Courtneyj - here's a GREAT way to sell your ring:

And look out - I think my exNH is running the marathon this year.
I hope you get a chance to finish your story. What's on your blog is all I got. Did you get my email?

Excellent
Maybe you should leave the keychain with a homeless person. LOL!
Nah throw it in the Hudson - or drop it off the Verazzano Bridge.

Can anyone else remember being "violent" with the "gifts" bought by the N?
The first N bought me a glass vase and I remember smashing that on the floor in fury (and I am usually quite a placid person). I remember also smashing a glass frame containing a photo of the last N and also threw a mug he bought me up against the wall. I cannot recall doing this with anything received from "normal" boyfriends, even if the relationship did finish.

I smashed the guitar he gave me. Like a rock star..haha. It felt kinda good but I was surprised at my anger. Never did that before.
Towards the end I was just throwing a lot of gifts away because they were meaningless to me. Including my wedding ring, which I threw in a field so I could never find it again.
sure - it's called REACTIVE ABUSE... and it's NORMAL

I kept 3 items from my N. A leather jacket and purse and a gold thumb ring. I think there are basically 3 reasons I kept these items 1) I picked them out (so finally something I liked and 2) They are very pricey and the look on his face when he had to shell out some $$$ on me was priceless in itself. 3) I feel great when I wear these items and others notice !!!! and I don't, for some reason, associate these things with him even though he coughed up the bucks. The rest....well threw countless things away. Brought back a horseshoe bracelet and earing set 68$ (he liked those, I didn't) and he also gave me a gold chain that an ex-gf had given him!!! Gotta love it.....got fifty bucks for that baby and laughed all the way home. Made sure I used that money for a special gift just for me. My N would always come to work or wait till he knew someone was coming to the house or we'd be in any social situation to present me with these gifts. He just wanted to show everyone he could what a great guy he is..........only to crucify me later !!!!!!! Barfing Deb
