A movie about about a terrified wife being driven insane by her husband.When he gets caught by another man and she confronts him he tries to talk his way out of it. Her husband is tied up and when he asks her to get a knife so he can cut himself loose, she does find the knife but sits there and tells him "there is no knife" and she starts acting out at him like she really is insane and he freaks outs. The movie is from 1944 with Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer,
goes to show just how far back in time these morons go!

The movie is called Gaslight

Gaslighting

Robin Stern has a book called "Gaslighting" which describes how abusers 'gaslight' their victims. When I read the book, I was reading dialogues verbatim out of my marriage. I ended the relationship as a result. It took me almost 2 months to move out. But, I learned a few techniques. Once I gaslighted him. I told him that he was 'mistaken' that I had NOT said that at all. He looked at me out of the corner of his eye. That 'shifty' look they get. "Wifie gaslighting me? Hmm. New development?" I could see it flashing through his mind. PS. It's a great movie. One can see it for free on YouTube. Netflix has it too.
