Moon children :)

Moon children :)

Hey girls (and boys), tonight is not only a full moon, it is a blue moon

A "blue moon" is also used colloquially to mean "a rare event", reflected in the phrase "once in a blue moon"

This article about the moon and how it affects our moods is very interesting :)

http://factoidz.com/how-the-moon-effects-our-moods-why-astrologically-sc...

The moon rules Cancer, the sixth astrological sign in the zodiac. I have experienced effects from that this heavenly body that controls the tides here on Earth. It is a contributor to our personality and the way we react to situations on a daily basis. The position the moon was in at your birth explains your emotional side in a detailed manner. Feelings inside the deepest recesses of our souls are found in the moon’s house of your natal chart. It controls our instinctual reaction and what we decide to do next subconsciously. Your basic human reactions are rooted in habit and driven by the moon. The moon has a very infulential effect on those born under the water signs: Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio. For instance, I am a water sign, my child is a water sign, and my ex husband, you guessed it, a water sign. We all all living exhibits of each of the water signs. It was absolute emotional Bipolar insanity as we all have mood disorders, some wonder, huh? We are innately emotional and our attitudes have much to do with the moon. The moon is pure, feminine energy. It pertains to your softer, more emotional side even if you are male. If you are born in the feminine signs; Taurus, Cancer, Virgo Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces; it is going to really have an influence on you even more. It gets tricky if you are not an adept Astrologer due to the fact that one would really need to locate their moon sign and have that interpreted within your Natal Chart to find out if this matter particularly is going to affect you.

To show skeptics and the inexperienced in this matter that Astrology does have some merit, and has been though to be a valid science by a great number of people for thousands of years, let me site some examples.

The moon controls the tides. Our bodies are made up of water, the vast majority or our body actually, 55 - 60 percent of our bodies contain the element water! Males have 55 percent water mass and females, have 60 percent water mass. I’m sure it fluctuates from person to person. Now, biologically, its not just prejudices that tell us females have a higher threshold of emotion. This is not everybody, there are always anomalies, but does this have some correlation to the moon and it controlling some of our bodily processes? I believe so.

I certainly suggest as an experiment for you to watch the moon and see what its doing especially if you are a water sign, but I know many earth, fire, and air signs who are also affected. We are all human and we are all made up of mostly water, and we are also made up of another element found in the ocean, salt!

Another interesting fact, Bipolar Disorder is often successfully treated with the drug, Lithium, right. Its been very effective and doctors and scientists DO NOT KNOW WHY! Its really simple. Lithium is a salt found in the periodic table, it is not even a pharmaceutical. Its absolutely no surprise that it regulates emotion and the way one feels. I suspect one of the major differences between table salt and Lithium is its ability to remain in the proper recesses of the brain where chemical activity takes place and affecting those systems positively. Although beyond crass, and without question, politically correct, they did not call the mentally ill, lunatics years ago for no reason. Psychiatric treatment hospitals are chock filled with patients during a full moon.

If anybody tries to tell you that the moon’s fullness is unrelated to how you feel or act, think again. Ask anybody who works at a psychological practice, hospital, or who is highly emotional. They will tell you. I would like you to question yourself if you are female and have ever had a menstrual period during a full moon. How did you feel on that day, pretty unpleasant, I would tend to deduce. I know a few women who actually chart the way this affects their cycle. Why would you not, women try to work with their biological baby clocks and fertility using moon cycles, and you know what? It works!

WTF??

I am a Cancer (big shock) and in total have three planets in Cancer. I am so boringly classic for this sign. Anyway, I apologize in advance if this is TMI but Auntie "M" has come to visit today with a VENGEANCE. It feels like a cheese press set to fifty pounds of pressure down there. I've noticed if Auntie "M" visits on or near a full moon, all the normal symptoms are magnified. Brings new meaning to the term "Shark Week".

Aha, you've been outed Briseis :)

Cancerians are sensitive, kind and sympathetic with an urge to nurture and care for people which expresses itself particularly strongly through the home and family. This is the 'soft' side of the Cancer personality. Meanwhile, the 'hard' side is very enterprising, shrewd and also self-assured. When attuned to the rhythms of their own nature, Cancerians are intuitive, imaginative and resourceful, knowing when to reach out to others and when to withdraw into their inner self for sustenance. Yep, that sums you up in a nutshell :) Tell Auntie M you've a migraine and send her packing! lol

LOL

I am soooo classic. I also have Aries (the Ram) as my rising sign, so I often knock people over when I rush in to nurture them :D My grandparents lived on a bay when I was a kid, so when the tide went out, I went out into the mudflats and played with all the creatures. My favorites were crabs because they just hid out in their holes or under a rock, and would scuttle away like mad. But if you cornered one, even the tiniest crab would stand up with it's pincers read to take a chunk out of you. That is exactly my style, too :D Whether I actually CAN take a chunk outta you is immaterial. In the last few months of my relationship with exNarc, he'd threaten me and I'd come up with my fists (pincers) and assure him I'd die trying to kick his ass right back. This quality in me is one of the biggest reasons I knew I had to end the relationship before something bad happened, I was just as capable of making the bad thing happen as him :( .

I must have cancer somewhere in my chart too cos I can totally identify with being cornered and coming out fighting. I grew up on the coast and spent many a happy day searching rockpools for imprisoned inhabitants and them old crabs were my favs :) I won't say you are classic tho, I think you are CLASSY lady :)

I thought about this this morning the fact of what if there really is merit to this stuff. If if there isnt if it gives you to the power to change your thoughts then it does work. Then I found this article not even a half hour later http://www.examiner.com/new-age-in-hattiesburg/my-thoughts-on-the-moon-s-mysticism MUAH! to you DWH my fellow rocker chic from across the pond! OOOh I'm imagining you now

OOOh I'm imagining you now as Scarlett O'hara in full leathers :) That article was great. We are stronger and more capable of our lives than we believe, and if the "placebo effect" can affect our lives, then why not use that same process to cause good change in our lives? The Moon can serve as an aid to pull things into and remove things from our lives, simply by visualizing our goals and imagining them entering and leaving when the moon gains and looses its light. Whether it be a "placebo effect" or not it CAN affect our lives....great stuff. MWAH backatcha and 'rydw i'n dy garu di' Thats love ya in Welsh, the land of dragons and daffodils :)

In my best Scarlett voice

As God as my witness. As God as my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over I'll never be hungry again nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill as God as my witness I'll never be hungry again." Geez sounds a little narcish but I still love it.

To the narc in you in my very best Rhett voice..... I've always thought a good lashing with a buggy whip would benefit you immensely. You're like the thief who isn't the least bit sorry he stole, but is terribly, terribly sorry he's going to jail. You still think you're the cutest trick in shoe leather. Nothing personal Scarlett, I'm in character here LOL

Despratehousewife,

Thanks for looking this up for us! It really is all quite complex, isn't it. So like I tell people at work when it's month end, it's a full moon, so don't take anything personally. People are going to get snippy, that's just the way it is. It will all get back to normal next week.

My pleasure MsV

I just learned another interesting fact Nov. 21, 12:27 p.m. EST -- Full Beaver Moon. At this point of the year, it's time to set beaver traps before the swamps freeze to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Beaver Full Moon come from the fact that the beavers are now active in their preparation for winter. It's also called the Frosty Moon. Tonights moon is the BEAVER moon, I nearly wet myself when I read that. Obviously I saw it in a different light! LOL

Found this and love the sentiment :)

The beaver moon will rise on the night of November 13 at about 1:18 am. So I will most likely be asleep. But if you are up, bask in her beauty. It is a time to prepare for the calm and quiet of the impending winter. It is a time to bring all things to a point of rest. Finish up on the projects of the summer and fall. As our friend brother bear, and sister squirrel are nestleling down in to the winter slumber, now is a perfect time to do the same. It becomes a time of quiet self reflection and internal peace. As the winter begins to set in, it becomes a time when we shall honor ourselves with meditation and silence.
