Just got a text...

N just texted me asking "how's (son), have a good day."

I told N clearly 2 days ago (once in the morning, and again in the evening after he responded in the morning that we should talk) that I don't want to talk anymore and I'm done with the relationship. (We've been separated since April but were "working on it" until recently.)

He didn't reply to that. I figured I dodged a bullet and hoped he would stay gone. Now I get this text.

He doesn't have legal rights to our son. But I'm still trying to determine what involvement, if any, with N will be a good thing for our son. I don't want to deny N information. I'm aiming for LC as long as N behaves within reason.

This doesn't feel like LC. It feels like an attempt to re-establish a connection with me.

I'm thinking of waiting until I get home from work tonight and then emailing him that I will let him know by email if our son has any illness or injury requiring medical attention, and other than that N can assume our son is fine. And perhaps telling him if he needs to contact me he needs to use email.
