got me Thinking.............double standards

hi all, reading Miss Scout's posting from July 11, 2012, got me thinking of all that she did to transform herself for her boyfriend," from losing weight, to having her hair colored, and changing the length of her hair.'why do we women keep doing this and I am so fed up with the double standards in this country of how women have to always change for the men??Men can be fat, pot bellied, ugly, balding ,with no teeth, do they change, very seldom,... but we women make ourselves into pretzels to please a man who should love us for who we are. I have seen it first hand on some dating websites I am on, I know they are bad, but just trying to meet new people in all possible ways.To quote Deidre99's famous line 'never put your self worth in someone elses eyes' your thoughts? When does it end, if ever...........
