To all the real members here:

I just received this private message and I do not like it.

I noticed this name in the 'who's new' earlier.

I hope a moderator will please look into this. I see there is not a moderator online right now but I will also send a message.

Please accept my sincere apologies to those of you who received this message. This person has now been blocked and will not be able to PM any of you or post to this board. I personally approve every person who requests to become a member here and this person looked legit in their "reason for joining." Clearly, I made a mistake in approving this person. Thanks to all of you and our moderators, this person was blocked yesterday evening. I am working again and the hours/travel are long. Sounds like a stupid phishing expedition to me. Probably nothing to worry about. More nuisance than anything. If Journey contacted Lisa, you might want to PM the mods, too (I'd do it, but I didn't get the message so I don't know the person's handle.) I know Lisa's working a lot these days. Don't know if the mods have access to delete accounts, but this isn't the first spammer caused a kerfuffle. :)

Reads like a set up for a 419 Confidence Game

The English used sounds like maybe a 419 yahoo boy in Nigeria. Be very careful. This does not sound legit. I suspect a type of romance scam for your trust and money.

Speaking of scams:

My husband had his boat up for sale on an online yacht sites. A man from Indonesia emailed him with ahopeful "Consider your boat already sold!" His English wasn't quite right, and when the dude followed up with a phone call, he didn't sound much better. He said his name was Paul and sent us a cashier's check for the boat. It turned out to be 2 thousand dollars more than husband was asking. We figured this was a scam, so husband told himm to go suck rocks. He kept calling, "Where is my check, why have you stolen my money,"etc.. etc...Husband told him that he tore it up as it was an obvious scam. So that took care of that. It was obviously some kind of a boiler room operation,making so many of these calls and scamming so many people they couldn't keep all of their "contracts" straight. A couple of weeks later another man phoned us saying HE was Paul, asking if the check cleared the bank, and said he realized it took a few weeks but he needed the 2,000.00 over payment right away for some dippy reason he had obviously made up. I answered the phone this time and said,"Gee Paul, you need your 2,000.00 back right away. I can understand that. Unfortunately, my husband was kidnapped on his way to the bank to deposit the check. He's being held for ransom by this gang of thugs, and they are demanding 1,000.00 to release him! I tell you what...you send me 1,000.00 to secure my husband's release. When he's released he will deposit your check, and then we will send you your 2,000.00 overpayment PLUS the 1,000.00 ransom money. What do you say? Are you interested? Blew his little Indonesian mind, it did. Anyway--don't nobody mess with me but highly cultivated narcissists! Damn, I wish I'd had the same moxie with the f'g fiend who absconded with my heart!
