I have been watching my face book page and when you go to "my profile" and look on the left hand side it shows you some random friends on youre friends list , now , i wonder if this is a random selction or is it people who look at youre page? because every day or every refreash of the page i am getting more or less the same people come up who i know watch my page as i do their pages and one man is there every time , i mean EVERY TIME !
Is there something in this and is there a way to see who has been looking with out it being plastered on youre home page that you have looked to se who is looking (if you get what i mean )

Ok I HAVE IT ! I looked on the internet and there seems to be a growing amout of people who have noticed that the random 6 friends are not so random and here is the conclusion of that , its to do with what groups you share and diffrent networks you both belong to , there is a "blib" in the programing and that is why people have noticed some same friends turning up over again , to its not who has looked at youre profile the most .. Ok ... ill put this to bed now lol xx

It's funny you should say that because last night I noticed mine was online and then shortly after I looked at my profile page and his pic was included there - lol! I do agree it is random though and I'm glad you found out what is really going on so neither of us have to wonder any longer. This thread has brought a smile to my face more than a few times (thanks!), but it is also a sad reminder about how ordinary things can really take over our minds with obsessive thoughts and even behaviors sometimes during recovery and the importance of NC. Or in this case blocking them on FB, which is something I haven't felt the need to do (at least not yet), but I'm glad we can let this suspicion rest now. Happy holidays Scoop! Journey on...

Ok heres the conclusion to

Ok heres the conclusion to my experiment . I have 109 people on my face book they show 6 random friends each time you refresh which means that if it is random you would see each person round about every 20 refreshes . this last time i did 20 refreshes he turned up 15 times .the last time he was there 14 times more than statisticly he should be . So my conclusion for what its worth is its not random , now why he is showing up way more than others if a diffrent question (its my ex husband .. not narc )but according to his fb page he hasnt been active on it since july ...like the x files .. the truth is out there !lol I need to get out of the house i think brave the snow .. I'm sorry for finding this so funny... I understand too well the kinds of obsessions we can easily get carried away with in trying to figure stuff out while in recovery, but this last post cracked me up! I have this image of you in a bathrobe, coffee in one hand, pen and paper, calculator, laptop in front of you, refreshing, taking notes... lol I get it, but I really do think it is fairly random. Some of the people that are coming up on mine have NO REASON to look at my page often and I see them there regularly. Brave the snow girl... breath in some fresh air :) Journey on...

I think it is coincidence

Well, I tried the experiment this morning and refreshed several times. Of the friends that showed up, included was one of mine that still has a FB page maintained by a close family member, but my friend passed away from cancer in 2009. I know SHE is not looking at my page (at least she wouldn't need to log in to do that), and I highly doubt the family member who logs into her profile would be, though I suppose it is a possibility - just highly unlikely. and you're right. The same persons keep showing up. My brother and my nice, of whom I know that they check my FB regularly keep showing up. I think you're right Creepy.

Ok call me obssessive but i

Ok call me obssessive but i have conducted an experiment , i clicked on the refesh on my profile 20 times last night and this one guy showed up 15 out of the 20 , today i did it 30 times and this guy showed up 17 times so i tryed a random friend Roz on my friends list and out of 30 times she came up 2 times .My fingers tired now but i plan more experiments later .. i will keep you posted .

Hm. I don't know about that. But, there is an app you can get called Social Statistics. It will show you who visits your profile the most from the past 2 weeks, and also if you "like" the app you will see who your biggest fans of all time are.

That app shows you who posts on your Wall, but it's against Facebooks TOS to keep track of who LOOKS at your wall. A few days ago I had a funny feeling and checked to see if the Narc had a FB page yet. Sure enough. I blocked him right away. And then looked into seeing if I could tell WHO has looked at my Wall. Turns out there is an app, but it only gives you a list of who actually WRITES on your wall, not who LOOKS at it. Simple hits on your wall is not tracked, and Facebook has prevented any apps that will do that.

Yes, I believe it's random. It could also be from looking at a group or something through FB. For example, I looked up a group that was connected to my high school. And now everyone and their mother who has ever attended that high school, pops up to the right hand side...''people you might know.'' But, FB has a block where if someone merely views your profile, and isn't a friend on your list, he/she can't be tracked.

Hmm i do press refresh and that same person just is always there ... maybe im just being silly . But i do remember that in the bit of people you might know there where a couple of very random people that would have no contact with anyone or anything on my face book that turned up , i wonder if they put my email into a serch but never asked to friend me hmmm... that freaked me out too ... face book is the work of the devil i swear to god !My reserch continues ! i will get to the bottom of this .
