Do ex Ns typically ramp up their attempts at connection around "holidays"??

I just posted in the Steps 4-6 that Mr. N just attempted to reconnected after over a year of NC. I can't for the life of me understand the timing of this except that it is around Valentine's day.

This is the jest of what he sent me: Darling, I have missed you. I now work close to where you live. If you have missed me as well I would like to resume our relationship.

There is no way that I will answer that....but it just baffles me after so much time of NC.
