CULT OF PERSONALITY or : Step Away From the Kool-Aid ! or: HE REALLY IS SATAN!

Cult of Personality definition:

"Intense devotion to a particular person" (From thefreedictionary.com)

And isn't that what drives the narcissists every thought and action? To elicit adoration and blind obedience to their every wish, nay, WHIM? That we lay our very souls to the altar of their charismatic (and ultimate) authority?

Do you fellow Narc-Survivors feel as though you are DEPROGRAMMING and extricating yourselves from a CULT or is it just me?

Well, I found this article and I particularly resonated with the list that the author calls: "The process of abusive brainwashing" and "breakdown tactics". Check it out!:

Reading the part about the abusers distorting our perceptions and willfully CREATING anxiety was like a punch in the gut:

"Whenever someone in your life reacts very differently at different times to the same behavior from you, tells you one thing one day and the opposite the next, or likes something you do one day and hates it the next, you are being abused with unpredictable responses."

Now, aren't you ELATED today that you escaped his 'cult' BEFORE he mixed the strawberry Kool-Aid? We are truly reclaiming our souls and our lives!

p.s. This last part is for those of you who are okay with biblical references (not intended for debate but rather to exemplify):

Even before Adam sinned, was the 'Fall of Satan'. I am drawing from Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 which depicts this exquisite creature adorned in every precious gem. He was "the model of perfection, full of wisdom and exquisite in beauty"...So, what does this perfect being, highest of all the angels do?

He decides to envy his Creator. Ezekiel writes:

"Your heart was filled with PRIDE because of all your beauty. Your wisdom was corrupted by your love of splendor."

Lucifer says, in his heart, "I will ascend my throne ABOVE God's stars"- he esteemed himself to be HIGHER than God! (Hmmm. Who do we know with an EGO THAT gigantic? Who only LOVES splendor and is obsessed with perfection? Ha!)

My point here is that the first recorded sin in the Bible was PRIDE. The worship of self in place of God. The cult of personality. Intense devotion/obsession with oneself.

Is it any wonder then that our personality disordered Exes all seem like THE DEVIL HIMSELF? And I, for one, am DONE dancing with him!
