Conspiracy Theorists?

I was just curious. My N husband seems to be a heavy conspiracy theorist. Everything is a conspiracy. He loves that show Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura, and when I watched it with him one time, I noticed they seem to have the same mindset. My father-in-law (also a pathological and diagnosed schizophrenic) is a massive paranoid.

I am a very black and white logcial thinker. I am always connecting the dots and trying to find explanations for things or events. I love watching mystery movies and figuring them out, so when he spews his conspiracy theories I usually roll my eyes at him. When I present him with facts refuting his theories, he will just look at me and say, "You're wrong," even though I have the evidence laid out. I am sure there are some theories out there that are true, but my husband seems to think everything is a conspiracy (mainly against him, of course).

Is this typical behavior for an N or quite possibly learned behavior in my husband's family?

Your clue is that you refute

Your clue is that you refute his conspiracy theories with facts and he isn't interested. he just likes games that involve trickery, intrigue, lying, misrepresenting, spying, etc. Some of the conspiracy websites are called 'crazy catcher websites' and are really done by law enforcement to keep track of disturbed people Someone showed me one about the Army fort in San Francisco that has been turned over to the City of San Francisco for offices for non=porfits and for community events. The website said that Russian Military were being housed at the Presidio without the knowledge of the American people and they were in full Russian uniform and doing maneuvers there. The Presidio is small, in the middle of San Francisco and is totally open to the public, people use the main street to drive from on area of town to another. there is no one in uniform there and no military. the site was attracting all kinds of hits. Go figure.

Mine was, but not as extremely as some others

Mine would get all excited telling me how he watched a show and how true it was, like a late night off-channel show on cable that showed how the Pentagon flew its own planes into the building on 911...I just thought he was dumb. And gullible.
