Bewildered. Duped again!

Hi Ladies!
If you remember, I checked back in in January to let you know that things were going well for me, and that I'd met a wonderful, normal man, and to offer hope for all of you who thought, like me, that we could never love or trust again. Holy crap; it happened again! This guy turned out to be nuts too!
After nine months of a beautiful relationship, spending a couple of days a week together (we live about 1.5 hours apart), enjoying time with our little girls, laughing, totally bonding, sharing everything, talking and texting all day, planning for a future together (but not in a crazy way), and enjoying very sweet lovemaking, about a month ago he texted one night and told me he would be going out of town for a few days and would see me soon. That was the end of it! I called him and he didn't answer, and we never saw each other again--except when I finally went to his house three weeks later to break up with him in person because he refused to speak to me! After a week and a half of him either not answering calls or texts or doing the "pick up, hang up" thing, I finally called his dad, who said he didn't know what his problem was, that he's always been "an odd duck" (!!!!!!!!), and I also finally called his ex wife (the enemy) because he and his daughter were supposed to go on a trip with us this month and it is all paid for and he refused to answer me about whether they were still going, so I asked her if she'd heard from him. Well, I found out that most of what he'd told me about their marriage and divorce was lies, that she'd divorced him, that he was addicted to painkillers, suffered from depression, had anger issues, didn't like being around his kids,is a compulsive liar and online sex addict,hadn't worked in five years, had never paid a dime of child support, etc etc etc.
Well when he found out I'd talked to her (not even knowing what we'd talked about), he went insane! I just told him I needed to know about the trip, and he said it was no excuse and I'd betrayed him, that he could trust no one in this world, that he was wrong to have thought otherwise, that he'd made a mistake with me, etc, etc.
Talk about blindsided! Never in a million years would I have thought this guy had ANY issues, let alone pretty much ALL of them! In the past couple of weeks, he has blamed me for everything under the sun, told me the most arrogant grandiose lies, completely emotionally abused me with his shutting me off completely, tried to brainwash me by pretending he said or didn't say all sorts of things the past ten months, ignored my little girls when they have contacted him asking him where he is and when they are going to see him and his girls, and has pulled that crazy, manipulative, doublespeak like, "No matter what I do, I just make you unhappy, baby." Ugh!
Anyone else have this happen? You think you've learned all the tricks and finally outsmarted them, and then you realize that BAM! you're sleeping with one of them again?
