Appearances and hobbies?

I was curious is the drastic change of appearances on a regular basis a characteristic of an N?
When mine showed back up last year he sent me a pick because he lives out of state we exchanged many pics over the past year.
Each picture looks almost like a different person.
He also goes through hobbies like I have never known anyone I have ever known.
I think I have counted 8 that he has been passionate about will live and breath it and then move on to the next.

Different personality for ever person

My ex-N had a different personality for each set of friends or family. He has so many groups of people he calls family and dresses and even speaks (his tone and style) differently with each of them. I could tell by listening to him talk on the phone. Then he would make sure non of them ever met. I never new several of these 'friends', he worked hard to keep it that way and gave me every excuse in the book on why that was. Hobbies were the same. He had me convinced that he could literally DO ANYTHING! He could get a book, read it, and do it. I believed it. Then if something went wrong it was this, that, and the other. It was never his fault. What a SICKO

Yes, Narcs go through hobbies

Yes, Narcs go through hobbies like they go through women. It's another form of Idealize, Devalue & Discard. This is very typical. And their appearances change because they wear different masks and adopt different personas for different people, groups & situations. They are not authentic, so are always in flux. Mine looks the same same same (though he's gained weight over the years) and had no hobbies. Maybe it's one extreme or the other?

EATING..DRINKING[ALCHOL]...WATCHING PORN...READING PORN... TALKING FOR ENGLAND...CHATTING TO WOMEN....FAT/SKINNY/INBETWEEN/....TALL/SHORT/MEDIUM/..... I WAS LAUGHING MY SELF WHEN I WROTE IT ,AND THINKING WHY DID I LIKE THIS MAN...HERE,S THE PUNCHLINE THO...SO WHEN I MET HIM,AFTER A WHILE I ASKED HIM WHY HE DID IT...BUT AS HE WENT TO ANSWER...I SAID IT FOR HIM...ITS YOUR SECURITY BLANKET...WHEN WE GOT FRIENDLIER...HE STOPPED BRINGING IT OUT..AND FOR 3YEARS I NEVER SAW THE BIKE AGAIN....8MNTHS AFTER I D/D HIM[WHEN I GUESS HE KNEW IT WAS THE END AS FAR AS I WAS CONCERNED]HE IS NOW BACK IN A R/S WITH HIS BIKE...AND I DONT MEAN HIS OW...LOL
