It's true - seriously - it gets better - thanks to everyone here

Hi everyone,

I have not posted for a long time. I was reminded today of how much I used to go on this site, mainly reading, sometimes posting, and how much comfort, support, and motivation I received from it. It gave me back my life. No amount of talking to friends or family provided the same "wake up" as talking to people who got it, were in it, and understood what I was saying and feeling in a different way.

I remember that people would always tell me "it will get better" "stay nc" and "you can do it..just hang in there." It always seemed like advice to someone else as trying to pull away and stay away was the hardest thing I have ever done. And nothing ever seemed like it would get any better. It all seemed as though it got better for other people, but would never get better for me. I remember the ptsd flashbacks that were unbearable.

Well - just a reminder and words of encouragement for those of you that are still in it to your core. Yes, it does get better. And not just your life before, but a whole different perspective. Of course, I still shudder when I think of him, but I have a joy for life I have never known. And a passion to live it.
