Having a Problem going NC

I truly don't feel that I can go NC. I know that I have to. I know that if his lips are moving or his fingers are typing, he's lying. He doesn't have my current phone number, and I have been good about not giving it to him. I hear from him once a day in email. He tells me how unhappy he is. How I'm right that he will die a lonely old man. I know it's all bull to suck me in. But I respond once a day politely. Can I truly move on if we are having this once a day contact? I would love to hear from people who have found the love of their life after ending a relationship with an N.
