Omegle

Just discovered Omegle and tried random chat with random strangers. tried 5 of them...and was told to 'eff off' when i said i am a bored and lonely elderly woman.

guess... it isn't easy to find someone to chat with..

immediately after the HI, the first question I was asked by all 5 is m/f ?

ok..i logged out of that. won't work. have to just be happy reading books...and hanging out here at this forum. Want to say a BIG thank you to everyone here...you are all so kindhearted and cultured.. unlike the bimbos on omegle.com

I need some friends .. i want some friends.. to hang out with. This solitude gets to me.

and news is nh has gone off on yet another shag-cation with floozie ow. damn

Wow

...this gets to me. First of all, you are not 'elderly'...you are vibrant with tons of life in you. Elderly gives the illusion to those who don't know you as "granny"...somehow, I don't see you as being the type! :) Your age, circumstances, etc can come out at a later time, if it's a friendship sort of forum, to those with whom you feel a connection. For the time being, however, it's nobody's business how old you are. Also, since it's the internet, please be cautious about expressing vulnerability to strangers, just as a safety measure. Lots of predators out there in cyberworld. Takes some practice getting back in the saddle after so many years with someone who makes you feel everything you expressed when you walked through the 'door' on that site. Don't be too hard on yourself and also, try a more positive approach when meeting new people. In time, those who you like/like you will be more than interested in hearing what's bothering you. Using it as your opening line to people who know nothing about you...and who have no idea why you feel this way...most people tend to avoid dealing with unpleasant information unless they have an emotional stake in it. Bond, then open up. That applies in all aspects of life, with all people you meet. You have to lift your head up and even fake it til you make it if that's what it takes for now. People are drawn to positive, repelled by negative. Dust yourself off, try again...nothing lost there - just a lesson learned! :) xoxo

Thanks Syren

Oh Syren, I needed to hear what you said. ..I should wait for a little while more before I try to find new friends...right now..i am making that cardinal mistake in my opening gambit.. good lord..i must be nuts to have lost even that common sense. at least it was a start at looking at an Alternative Life. Until last couple weeks I didn't even have the urge to talk to anybody. I guess if I am asked my a/s/l i will say..I am Young, I am a female, and live somewhere on the earth. tough tough tough to get past barriers.. but it is something new to do. I think I will take your input and think of myself as young and vibrant... the nh must be buried.. he is a dead man walking.. should stop feeling sad because he rejected me after 20+ years of marriage and enforced servitude from me.

I think it's awesome that you

I think it's awesome that you ARE trying! We are walking mopes for a long time before we no longer have to remind ourselves to be positive. It's all over our face, our posture, everything. I'm trying to think of alternatives to the internet for you to meet new people. Nothing trumps face to face encounters! :) I'll post when my brain is a little less fried...I'm jell-o after today at work.

Freaked

Just my opinion, but the net is not all it's cracked up to be. Is there any chance you could get involved in an association or group in your locality, where you might meet people and have someone to chat with. Er...btw, don't start out with "I'm bored and lonely". I know it's hard, but I think getting out and getting some kind of life for yourself would make a great difference. Good luck Hermes

I know what you mean Hermes..

I know what you mean Hermes.. will try something in that direction. trouble being, i live in a small town and people know nh. nobody would really want to be my real friend. lot of dirty work at the crossroads by nh. mostly i do hide when i step out. Nobody else that i know of who has this problem of dealing with a PD husband...people around seem so contented with their daily life... even stories of some old men having gf's..they still look after their wife and kids VERY well...i can see them around..happy families.. picnicking on Sundays.. I guess it certainly is very hard for me right now to avoid saying I am bored and lonely...in fact I said that on Omegle and got booted.

Aaaah Freaked

It is so terrible that you are affected by the dirt done by NH. And so totally unfair. You don't deserve it. People should be able to discern between you and this dreadful individual. Small towns can be claustrophobic for sure. It is hard when you see others getting on with life. Most marriages, normal ones, are not perfect. Nothing is perfect in this life. But marriage to an N-abuser is entirely another place. I can only hope that some event occurs to change your life. Take good care Hermes

AWWW!

Hi Freaked, I am sorry that people are pissants! You are a wonderful lady, and I would like to be your friend. I am very lonely here too, and am dying for some friends. unfortunately I live in the land of narcs, plastic boobs and passive aggressive zombies. Finding friends is so hard here, and I cant wait to move. I let xN be my best friend, and shelter me for many years, and now its just weird being all alone. Big hugs sweetie!! SG XX

its an honor!

its so my pleasure to be in the company of such a nice soul as yourself, being surrounded by evil, righteous, horrible people for so long. It feels great to be here, and see some sense of normality! I believe we are all some of the kindest beings on this forum, we got targeted because we are good hearted. Thank you for being here dear freaked, and being my friend. Big handshake ! :D XXOO
