Wow. This is a similar to the e-mail I would write my N brothers on again off-again girlfriend if I could. You're very lucky that you have the validation from a psychiatrist and his own father.
No one would know better than his dad, he's lived with him just like I've lived with my brother. If I could tell his on again off again girlfriend I'd say that as much as I'd love the girl around because she's a sweetheart and the BEST thing that ever happened to him.. he is not her cross to bear and the best thing she can do for herself is to put her sneakers on and not WALK AWAY but RUN AWAY.
It's sad but I believe that my brother will either end up in jail, beat up badly, or living at home with my parents as a middle aged man. Sad but true.
