Wouldn't it be great if we could start a secret, secure database with the names of all these horrible Ns.....when we meet a new love-interest, first we run his/her name through the NARC ALERT LIST!!!

Just a funny thought amidst all of this pain!!!:)

Good idea

It would be such a relief to find one of his exes here on this forum or even speak to one of them, but that's wishful thinking. It would make me feel just a teensy bit better if I could talk to ANY female figure in his life just to feel like I am not the only one..... I would never reach out to any of them via Facebook or anything, but if they did, I would be more than willing to talk and pour my heart and soul out. It would be like, I don't know you, but in a sense I know you through the N and what you have been through. Instead we are just disconnected women, I think afraid to speak out....for fear of wrath from the N...? All I know, is that there are many N's, on different degrees and levels, in every city, state, country, continent.

i would love to talk to an ex too just to validate that i'm not the only one who experienced the madness of dealing with such a disordered individual, i feel like we'd have an instant kinship and could understand and support each other

am very good friends with wife#1 and her current husband, they are some of my best friends and she made me realize it had NOTHING to do with me and I could not fix the man with my love, she tried herself..We both said something went terribly wrong with him and his mother as a young boy growing up.

That IS funny! We already have our own database, though...it's called gut instinct...it was always there, it's just that now, we actually look at it instead of turning the page because we don't want to see his name there!

Doesn`t work that way!

When Oxytocin, Dopamin and co. are coursing through our veins, we don`t think, Oh dear, that one`s a narc., better get out of this. We think, she just didn`t understand him, he`ll be different with me. Truth is, the Idealization phase feels so good, we wouldn`t pull out for any reason. By the time reason makes any sense to us, we`re hooked. Far better to raise our self-esteem, clarify and protect our boundaries and improve our powers of discrimination, I think! Love Tigerlily

I'm not sure people would pay attention. Recently a friend of mine has got involved with my narc. I warned him how badly Narc Boy treats people, and his response was that he respected that I'd had a bad experience, but that he liked to make his own mind up about people.

They won't listen, unless they've already suffered enough

... like all of us here. I know I would listen to every serious warning I get from now on - and I have a few girlfriends who have also reached a point where they carefully listen to and consider what they are being told as they go out and date new guys. The problem with my Narc is that he travels, so his new victims will never hear the stories we could tell about him. I heard early on that a lot of people at his former company had a very bad opinion of him. But Narc explained that away by saying that he was unhappy there, that they treated him badly and that he feels like a new person now that he is here... which made sense to me at the time. Basically, he will always find willing supply that way.

You read my mind!

About 3 weeks back, I was just saying that to my daughter, lets make a database of all the abusers, any type of abuse and people can run their names. LOL! Sounded like a great idea, but then I realized how gullible we can be, like i was- and even if anyone or anything tarnished his name, I didnt believe it. Just like OW didnt believe me, when I told her recently. But, its a fun great idea nonetheless!! HUGS :) SG

You're right. We would check the list and if the new N was on it, we'd justify it by assuming it was just another person with the same name:)..... I remember now all of the things people told we/warned me about when I started dating xN....I ignored them and was indigant even. They were ALL right on target.
