As a Yank (American) I feel like I just got "spammed"

I am now road kill! Hahaha Yes, it was very funny and I did enjoy it! I don't eat it often, but I do like Spam, and similar meats. I did kind of grow up on it. I've read how the U.S. shipped tons of the stuff off to England and other countries like Russia during, and post WWII. Here's a favorite youtube link of mine I hope you enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ih6W19KTlZo

Goofy food, but you can keep it haha

I tend to like it fried myself, slathered with mayonnise on bread, maybe some sliced onion on it. For such a humble, lowly meat product, it's amazing that it's as popular as it has been and used to save so many people from starvation during WWII and after by a Europe devastated by war. It's one of those goofy foods that has inspired a lot of jokes over the years. BTW, loved the "Yank" term, I think it goes back to the American Civil War, when Southerners called Northerners "Yankees" What do you think about the British being called "Limeys"? http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/food_history/26046 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam_%28food%29 (some interesting history here:) In the United Kingdom spam is often sliced, battered and deep-fried becoming known as 'spam fritters', and is still a popular way of eating Spam today. It gained popularity in the 1940s during World War II, as a consequence of the Lend-Lease Act when Hormel began to increase production towards British and Russian markets.[24] Place of origin United States Creator(s) Hormel Foods Corporation Main ingredient(s) Pork

Limey? I think it goes back to early British Sailing History

My understanding is that British sailors used to suck lime juice during long voyages. It was a smart choice as limes are rich in vitamin C and prevents scurvy... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_names_for_the_British Limey is a Caribbean and North American slang nickname for British people, originally referring to British sailors and seamen. This term is believed to derive from lime-juicer, referring to the Royal Navy and British Merchant Navy practice of supplying rations of lime juice to British sailors to prevent scurvy. The term "Limey" is thought to have originated in the Caribbean in the 1880s. I like being called a "Yank" myself. I think it's cool! P.S. Spam fritters sounds delicious. I'll have to find a good recipe for them and try them sometime.

Loved the dog video

It was hilarious! Looked like the dog was really talking, and he was a very expressive looking animal. Excellent choice! Very funny!
