Today we celebrate and give thanks for all we are grateful for here in the states. I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for being a pillar of strength for one another here on The Path Forward.
The way in which you support one another here is so inspiring. In a modern world full of chaos and conflict, you each restore my faith in the true goodness and humanity of all women and mankind. ;)
Please take today to be grateful for the abundance in your life. Although many here are going through an extremely painful time in life, it is important to always remember our blessings.
While it is a daily conscious effort to stay in the moment, especially in today's busy world, appreciating the simple things in life is so important. By doing this, we begin to engage our senses to the point where everything we experience becomes more real and vivid. When we sense everything around us, we start to feel life.
This is when we begin to ENGAGE in life rather than merely OBSERVE it.
This is living!
Give thanks for your loved ones. Family is everything and should be the primary focus of our lives. Be grateful for your freedom. Most of us here have easy access to the internet and live in a society where our voice can always be heard. We are not oppressed. We are not silenced. Be grateful for peace. With everything going on in the Middle East, one must be grateful to live in a world where you know your loved ones are safe and do not live in a state of perpetual fear. Become fascinated with nature. The beauty of nature is one way God shows us he exists. Beauty provides us with a source of inspiration that is available everywhere to everyone. Embrace the gift of the present moment and realize how blessed you are. The present moment is everything!
Remember, all of our anxiety comes from REGRET of the past or FEAR of the future. We cannot change the past, nor can we control the future. However, even while going through a difficult time, we can always cope with the present moment.
You CAN control how you respond to the present moment, and how you respond to the present moment determines your future. We have a choice to be happy and embrace the moment or remain stuck. Please never forget that you cannot cope with something that hasn’t happened yet and you cannot change the past.
Be grateful for today. How you respond to life is 90% more important than what happens to you in life. You are finally living in the light and moving away from the darkness. Cherish this time you have to connect with yourself again. Being in touch with yourself and your true emotions is truly a gift that we all must embrace.
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend." ~ Melody Beattie
