Memory

Okay, I'm curious about something... one of the things that always fascinated me about exN was how good his memory was. In close to 2 years, he literally could remember EVERYTHING. What I wore, what we texted back and forth, what he did with his hands (not in a weird way, but in a "I had my hand around your waist" or "was rubbing your feet" way), what we said, what we did, EVERYTHING. That's a lot to remember. And on top of it, he had OW so I'm sure he did the same with them.

On some level, I'm impressed...but I also think, no wonder he was tired all the time! That's got to be a lot to mentally juggle and keep straight! haha.

Has anyone else had that experience?

selective memory

I find it very funny, that he would memorize every event, down to what I wore when we met ( I though.."Oh my, HE REMEMBERED THAT?..HOW SWEET!"....WRONG!!) He could remember how I like my coffee at Starbucks, or anything to seem impressive or to gain something for an ego stroke. But, if we had a fight , and I would point out something he was doing that I told him not to do (ie..disrespect..my boundaries) Well, he couldnt remember that. OR, if he said something out of defense in an arguement , he would deny he said it, or that he didnt REMEMBER saying it. Hello crazymaking. And the thing he did the most was BLAME me for having a SELECTIVE memory, if I pointed things out, or called him on his B.S. Master manipulators indeed! SG XX

Hey bumblebee

Definitely. Mine recalled conversations and recounted memories from when we first dated twenty five years ago. Down to specific conversations, what restaraunt we ate at on a certain night, etc. That to me is unreal. I cannot remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday! I think this is uncanny, or very unusual at the least. I consider myself to be very sentimental, but can't recall alot of specifics, and have more of an "emotional memory" rather than a detailed or photographic one. Very good observation you are making! Thanks for bringing it up. xx, Rose

Oh Yes amazing memory

used to hoover and suck us in thinking that maybe they really did care? Amazing how he could keep all the women straight but he is a very smart man so there you have it, great at lying, manipulating and deceiving people too. He is a master of deceipt for sure.

He only remembered things I

He only remembered things I said.,word for word. Then he would use it in a twisted way as well. Like one time I said " I love you so much." so then when I we were fighting once he said, you'd do anything for me, you're leave everything for me. I know because you love me sooo much."

Don't be too impressed. He

Don't be too impressed. He probably told the same lie a hundred times a day and knew he would hit a bullseye with someone eventually. Mine told me the same stories over and over again as if they were being told for the first time. I use to stop him and say, "Tom, you already told me that" he didn't skip a beat. He also use to ask me over and over again, the same questions "Do you like shrimp?" Good God, No!!! My point is, he kept the questions generic for every conversation with every woman, kept it safe........ As far as juggling, maybe, but my money is on they would RARELY put that much effort into any one of us after the 3 month mark....

My N seemed to remember everything too - but it was always twisted just so slightly just to mess with me :)
