Help from experienced gardeners please?

I know this is completely off-topic but thought it might be a fun change of pace. Looooooong story short-I am struggling to stay no-contact from a heartless monster. I have a beautiful deck in which I feed the birds off of everyday. This really helps lift my spirit. I would love to decorate it with a few inexpensive, long-flowering plants in a few pots. I live a few hours south of Seattle, so it's pacific NM weather, which is finally sunny and hitting 70's this week.

I'm completely inexperienced with this stuff. So, anyone know of some cheap, pretty&long blooming flowers to perk up my deck? Thanks for any tips! :)

Excellent! Thanks so much

Excellent! Thanks so much apple&SS78. I will check out petunias&chenilles. I highly recommend feeding birds also. And birdfood is so inexpensive. I never thought I'd enjoy it so much. It's fun to see all the different kinds that show up after awhile. Any fellow birdwatchers? I just had the CUTEST red hummingbird the other night! I'd never seen a red one before.

I used to have a hummingbird

I used to have a hummingbird feeder, and birdbaths in my old place. LOVED IT!.....but...my condo that I am in now isn't ideal for those though unfortunately:( So, for now, I shall live vicariously through you! xoxo

Chenille plant...

Is the most beautiful plant you ever saw. You should be able to find them at a nursery. Google it tho and you can see how amazing they are =)

A woman after my heart!

I love flowers and gardening! And it is a GREAT distraction. I can't say that I am a "good" gardener lol....but... Petunias, are cheap and pretty. They like full sun and come in every colour. The "wave" petunia is nice because it, well, grows in waves lol....so it goes over your planter pot and looks gorgeous! That's what I always plant, cheaper, but really pretty. Good luck and let us know how you make out! xoxo

great idea!

Hi Sadlymistaken yes, as we are healing sometimes we forget that spring has sprung! a wonderful idea you have there, its proof of your healing as an avid gardner may I suggest perhaps you would like to check out QVC 's website they have the best quality and excellent prices on flowers, plants, just excellent and they also seem to have a great selection for people just getting started with gardening they tell you the sun exposure reccomendations and watering so that you can determine what kind of light your deck gets and purchase accordingly there is something so magical and healing to see things bloom that you planted with your own 2 hands and unlike the narc...they grow and flourish..LOL BTW they also have a 30 day money back guarentee on the plants& they use a great nursery (thats the secret for plants and flowers for a deck, porch) keep us posted wanna hear all about your new blossoms! blessings K
