Wishing me a happy birthday after 5 months NC :(

Hi everyone!

I've been NC for 5 months, something I'm proud of, lol :)
But today was not a good day for me. I saw a guy, who reminded me of my exnarcopath, he was playing with his son and I started thinking about the times we talked about having a family and how everything sounded so perfect...and I felt something like...love for him again... :(

Yesterday he sent me an email wishing me success and happiness in the coming year. I was so shocked when I saw his name in my mailbox, now that I think about it I should have deleted it right away (I haven't done that yet! :( ). Today he sent another message via messenger. He has not contacted me for months! Why is he doing that now?! I always ignored his messages and eventually he gave up. My birthday is next week anyway, I was even going to ask him if he forgot when my birthday was or if he just wanted to contragulate me in advance. Then I quickly realized that would just start the ball rolling again. Maybe he just sent it to confuse me, like he always tried to. Today I was considering sending him a short email just to say thank you and then ignore the following messages, which I'm sure he will send if I respond. Please tell me that that's not a good idea!!!
