What did you believe that you no longer do?

He said so many negative things to me over the years but the one that sticks out the most was that nobody else would ever love me because I was too messed up. I no longer believe that because he's not around anymore and guess what ladies (and gentlemen) there are some very supportive people who love me a hell of a lot more than he ever did.

So I am wondering, what did he say to you that you believed and that now that you are free you no longer do??

Also, was that projection on his part? Did he think that nobody else would ever love him? I just thought it might be that and that sounds so weird because I can't imagine him being vulnerable enough to even have that thought process, but maybe that's not how projection works.
