The Wendy Maldonado Story - an HBO documentary on an abuse victim in six parts

This story hurts my heart so much. The husband was beating the boys. She called the police... They did nothing to help her. I know I would have done the same thing to protect my children. It makes me sick that she is still in prison.

I just watched all 6 parts. In horror, I might add. When the guy KICKED the deer head... omg, I couldn't stand to look! Such disrespect for the life he just took. It reminded me of that story in the news, where a soccer player kicked a live owl off the field. I'll never understand animal abuse. I can't make sense of it. I just love animals so much. At least the son, looks like he has a chance at parole Aug. '11. Although, now he's fully grown, and educated by the prison system on how to be a better, smoother criminal. So, the mom's not even eligible for parole until 2016?! Our justice system is so ass backwards, I can't believe it. I'd love to see an update on this family. Hopefully they can get counseling, and help others. Such a damn shame.

Great idea posting these Michelle! I've seen all six parts before. And although Wendy's story breaks my heart, it makes me feel grateful that we here on this forum have chosen the better option of simply walking away from our abusers. Ladies, don't do what Wendy did, he's not worth it!
