Warning about Apology Hoovers or "let's be friends"

Hey everyone. My name is Rose. My story was posted in Share your Story back in 2012. My narc nightmare ended by my choice to walk away in 2011.
I was VERY active on the forum from 2010-2013.

Fast forward to 2013. Narc repeatedly makes attempts to contact me.
I resist and ignore (like she did to me while we were "together").
Finally, in a moment of weakness, I opened one of the emails.
The message was "I am sorry for the hurt and pain I caused you".
I hope we can be friends. I am moving away (cross country) but would like you and your
Dog to come visit me.
Well, being very religious, raised to always forgive, I did just that.
I felt liberated! Suddenly the bitterness and pain I had been carrying around all those years and in my heart
Lifted.

Trouble is, she wasn't sincere. I fell for the fake apology hook line
And sinker.

After this apology message, I informed her I was now involved with
Someone else. After that, this person that seemed so intent on being my friend
Once again did a disappearing act. One of her specialties...IGNORE!

So, for six months, not another word from "Cruella".
Her birthday came. I sent her a "happy birthday!" message on Facebook.
No reply. Fast forward another 6 months, I sent a link to one of those
Sappy Lion videos. You know the one where the two boys who raised a lion cub
are reunited as grown men with the now large adult Lion.
At the end of the video is a quick line about friendships last a lifetime,
And "get back in touch with someone today, you'll be glad you did"
Innocent enough, right?
Well .... that was another SIX months ago and once again-
NO RESPONSE. I know what you're thinking. "Rose, that's the definition
of Insanity!!" Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting
A different result. So, I'm officially done.
I got suckered. The bitterness didn't come back the way it was before, but the anger
at myself for ignoring the NUMBER ONE RULE ---- NC!!
No contact means no contact - EVER.
I want others to learn from my lesson. Getting lured back in...even as just
a "friend" then being drop kicked on your head AGAIN does not feel good ladies (and Gents).
If anyone else has experienced a similar type of Hoover and Disappear act I would
