Is there any value in determining him to be a Psychopath or Narc?

I know without a doubt he is Narcissist...then I read alot about psychopaths....and I wonder...they both have some of the same tactics and behaviors for sure...but I think my N. really needed people's admiration for his own sense of self..this is NOT a psychopath quality, right???
I just wonder if I should be reading psychopathic information if my guy is just a Narc. and believe me, I use the word "just" loosely. I have been to hell and back in the last 8 years..

Just curious what you all think.

8 Years of HELL with a Narcissist/Antisocial

WOW! Lucky me! Mine was even properly diagnosed, YAY ME! Not that it even matters, but I bring it up just to let you know that I KNOW for sure what these nuts are all about.......YES! There is a HUGE difference and unfortunatly I have learned first hand what the difference is.......antisocials (another word for psychopath) are VIOLENT with ZERO empathy for their victims........punching holes in walls, slinging knives, strangling me, attempted rape THREE times, evil, evil, EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was broken down emotionally and paralyzed.......God help me and help us all.....I don't miss him one bit.......awful person, if you can even call him a person..........

SFH

They seem to have a little bit of this and a little bit of that! Read on Borderline as well. That is why it's referred to as cluster B A psychopath is not a formal term in the DSM books! Bottom line, idealize, devalue, discard! :( Hunter

I believe you should read ALL

I believe you should read ALL that you can read on any of these disorders. Remember, we are not educating ourselves for them............we are educating ourselves for US. Learning as much as we can, will not only benefit us now, but in our future, with future relationships. READ, READ, READ

from what ive read...

From what ive read on alot of different websites, psycopaths dont need admiration or praise from people. They DO like amuzement though (and $,power and prestige). Yes i think theres value in learning the difference because there are alot of them to deal with out there and the more we know, the more aware we are of how not to act around them, what angers them, etc (the safer we are). So next time you meet a psycopath, whatever you do, dont be amuzing! lol
