Taking baby steps to regain my happiness

A few days ago I wrote a list of things that I have either wanted do, start, continue, or complete. Things that I have put off due to being so stressed out from being in such a toxic draining relationship and allowing my world to center around my exN. Things that I have put off, thinking I'll do them when I get married. I have made a decision to take responsiblity for my happiness right NOW...not tomorrow and not until the right man comes along. I have to take responsiblity for MY happiness. Even if its just baby steps....I gotta start some where. Right!

Here are a few baby steps ive done so far.I have started slowly reconnecting with friends that I have not spoken to in quite some time. I bought multi vitamins and have been making healthy nurtrional shakes and drinking daily. Yesterday I went to the hair salon and got my hair done. And today I bought myself a angel plant. I said to myself I'm going to take care of this plant and watch it grow. In hopes it will be a representation of how I am growing. In 3-6 months, if my plant has not died ( prayerfully not), I plan to look into buying a dog. I first need to see how I can nurture myself and now this plant before nurturing a pet. I've always wanted a dog. :)
