Supporting the forum/Answers to all of the PM's regarding donations

Hi to all of you treasured and valued members,

Lisa has been providing a safe supportive environment now for over 3 years to help men and women who are recovering from the effects of a relationship with a PD.

She has personally been funding this site and all the expenses herself. The moderators who are available throughout the day and evening are volunteers who give back to the site what was given to them freely by you for all of this time.

The dedicater server which allows us to PM, private chat, and run smoothly, costs her over 350.00 per month. Like I said, she has been paying for this herself.

We would like to have you all enjoy the benefits of private chat and PM's.

We are asking that the members when they sign on pay just 5 dollars for a lifetime membership to help with these expenses moving forward.

The members who are already grandfathered in will not be required to pay this 5 dollars. If you feel that you have benefited from the site and would like to kick in, then we would gladly accept your help, however this is not going to be required of you to retain your membership.

If you have more to offer then fine and if this is not possible for you, then we will also understand, and you can remain as you have all along.

So basically, moving forward, new members will be required to enroll with 5 dollars and former member can give a donation for their membership if they would like, or otherwise remain a member who is grandfathered in as they have been all along.

Thank you so much for all of your support. We are a great team and we will continue to make it our goal to help each and every one of you in your effort to recover from the adverse effects of a relationship with a PD.

Regarding donations/to answer the many questions I have received

You do NOT need a paypal account of your own to use the paypal button. Originally Lisa had asked for 5 from new members. So many of the current members have asked if they too can donate because they value the site. We totally appreciate this and if you would like to donate the suggested donation ammount which will include chat is 20.00, also if you would like to sponsor a member who cannot afford this you are welcome to do this as well, just send me a PM telling me the ammount you donated and we will use this towards new members who cannot afford a donation. If 20.00 is too much, this is fine. It is just a suggested ammount as I have been asked this question by members and if you can do more, we will use your donation towards member who cannot afford the membership. They will be told that another member sponsored them and your name will not be given out unless you would like for them to know it was you. If you cannot donate or choose not to this is fine. You will be grandfathered in. Just please keep in mind that the site costs over 500.00 per month to run and Lisa has been paying this out of pocket for over 3 years. This is 18,000.00. I believe the time has come to ask our members to contribute through purchasing the book for your own benefit and to make a donation if you are able to do so. This forum saved my life in more ways than anyone will ever know. I'm not really sure I could ever put a price on it's value (priceless). Of course, I'm happy to donate. Here's me clicking the button. :)

sponsorships and pledges

I know $5 may not seem like much, however there may be even just one person who will not be able to join because they are in a state of financial devastation...and that may be someone who needs this forum most. As a yogi, we aretaught to never turn away someone who is a student...there is always a way to exchange value. Could we allow members to designate funds to be used as membership dues for those in need, or allow new members to make a pledge to pay within a month or so...just to avoid denying someone access to a resource that may need desperately.

That those who can afford to, pay more and those who cannot pay are helped by those who can. We certainly can set up a fund to cover those who cannot afford 5.00, not a problem, great suggestion Empath. God bless, Goldie
