So, what does a hoover *look* like, exactly?

Please please take the time to read through this, and add your own ex N's hoovering lines, and baiting tactics. I think this thread can help many who are struggling in the early stages of NC, to realize...A HOOVER IS NOT A COMPLIMENT. IT'S A WAY TO GET YOU TO BREAK NC, SO THEY CAN USE/ABUSE YOU, SOME MORE.

If you get a text like this...it's a hoover:

* You stole money from me! (read beautifulmess' story today) So complimentary, huh?

* You'll regret leaving me
* I hate you
* I never loved you
* I love you
* I miss you
* I need you
* I can't believe you are ignoring me
* I can't believe you left me
* Don't ever contact me again (yes, this one is a puzzling one, indeed, especially when you broke up with the ex and have been NC lol)

* Wanna hang out tonight as friends?
* I have something important to tell you
* My mom's/dog's/dad's/mailman's dying, thought you'd like to know. (why?) lol

* My kids miss you <<< low blow that one is, but I've read it on here

* I heard this song today, and it made me think of you.

* Hi, haven't heard from you in a while...hope you're doing ok.

Some are subtle. Some are not so subtle.

BE ON GUARD LADIES AND GENTS! These narcs are masterful manipulators...and if you think a hoover means they want you back, to love you and tell you the error of their ways...THINK AGAIN. ;)
