So weird - his focus on minutiae

My n was always focused on insignificant things like someone parking too close to him. He would always make remarks about stuff like that. I can't figure out if his life was so empty that these become more important than they would be to a "regular" person or if it was about something else I am not seeing. Any thoughts?
