PTSD and recovery from narcissistic bastards

I know that just dealing with these reptiles can cause PTSD, but what if we already had it in the first place? Does it make recovery more difficult and time consuming.

I say this because it has taken me 8 months since final D&D, and have not been able to go more than 3 weeks NC. Due to a difficult childhood, and experiencing police violence during a desert protest, I have had full blown PTSD for over 10 years. I am on disability and have very few friends, cannot work, study is difficult. Going to the library can be an overwhelming experience because of the noise, and not having 100% control over the environment. I experience three emotions - devastation, rage and numbing. I'm not saying this in a woe is me kind of way, just to give a bit of background. The N only got access to me because I was using Facebook as a social outlet, which I thought would be safe.
