We have all been through a lot in our lives. We have endured a great deal of hurt and pain. So I wanted to take this moment to share this message. My therapist sent this to me last week. It's a Christmas message about pain and surviving it. Here is what she wrote.....
"Birthing is hard work whether it is birthing a child, a dream, or a new life. Gestation is a marathon not a sprint, and labor can be arduous or suddenly take an unexpected turn that takes us to a place we never expected to be. Like Mary, who was required to travel through the treacherous terrain from Nazareth to Bethlehem in her ninth month of pregnancy while enduring the discomfort of being full with child. I imagine, since she was still a young woman herself, that she experienced the kind of labor that threatened to suck the life out of her before she had a chance to bring it to fruition. I don’t think their journey was what she and Joseph imagined, or in the setting they preferred. Yet in the unlikely place of a manger in a foreign land, hope was born.
And so it is with many dreams that lay dormant in our soul, waiting for the time to gestate and come to life. Sometimes the wait is long and the expedition grueling; and there are times we travel through or end up in places we never imagined we would be. Yet along the way we are often surprised by the tender sprout that pushes its way up through the fallow ground – and in the most unimaginable place hope is born".
I LOVE YOU, MY NEW FORUM FRIENDS. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! XOXOACGIRL
