Pearls of wisdom from Warren Buffet

I was watching a talk by Warren Buffet and Bill Gates one time on TV to some graduate students at the Wharton School of Business. During the Q&A one student raised his hand and asked what they thought he could do to really get a jump start on his career and get started down the right path from the very beginning. Warren Buffet didn't even hesitate...He said "Marry the right person". Everybody laughed including Bill Gates but Warren didn't even smile. He said "No, I'm serious". I even chuckled when I was watching but then when you reflect on what he said he is really making a much bigger statement. Stability in your home allows you the opportunity to go out into the world to stake your claim. It allows you the freedom to focus on other issues because you know at the end of the day when you return home you will have peace and stability. You will sleep better, you will eat better, you will enjoy more quality of relationships outside the home because your relationship at home is solid. You will have support from your partner and you will be able to lean on them during tough times. You will be able to think about yourself without worrying about weather or not your relationship will suffer as a result. Do you think Warren Buffet is worried if his wife is cheating? Do you think Warren Buffet is looking at his wife's phone to see who's texting her? Do you think Warren's wife is telling him that he really isn't that great of a businessman or devaluing him in other ways? Do you think his wife is making ultimatums to him that require him to weigh his work and his home life? Or his relationships with friends vs. her? And most importantly do you think Warren Buffet is spending hours upon hours reading about narcissism and writing posts in online forums about his woes? Food for thought.
