NVA - Narc Victims Annonymous - Just for Fun

Why re-invent the wheel, Twelve Steps just needed a little tweaking - enjoy!

NVA - How it Works

Narc Victims Anonymous

If you want what we have to offer, and are willing to make the effort to get it, then you are ready to take certain steps. These are the principles that made our recovery possible.

1. We admitted that we were powerless over our Narcissist, that they are incurable personality disordered individuals non responsive to love, therapy, stun-guns or exorcism their lives are and will always be unmanageable.

2. We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves such as a Thorazine drip, Southern Comfort or Electric Shock Treatment to quell the PTSD could restore us to sanity.

3. We made a decision to go NC immediately.

4. We made a searching and fearless quest for information about NPD and have become experts of all types of incurable personality disorders.

5. We admitted to ourselves, and to another human being our victimization and the fact that we suffered from delusions as well as the exact nature of the Narcissist’s wrongs.

6. We were entirely ready to remove the defective, morally flawed Narcissistic character from our lives.

7. We humbly accepted his shortcomings usually in the form of premature ejaculation and through healing remain confident we will someday find an exceptionally skilled lover absent serial cheating, fetishes, paedophilia, bestiality, obsessive compulsive masturbation or covert homosexual activity.

8. We made a list of all persons he had harmed and all future victims, and became willing to make amends to them all in the form of prayer or other forms of spiritual supplication from a distance.

9. We made direct amends to ourselves so that we could avoid the obsessive desire to harm him.

10. We continue to take personal inventory and when we are weak, promptly log on to Vain Encounters.

11. We seek through prayer, meditation and the occasional voodoo doll to improve our conscious contact with ourselves as we understand ourselves, praying only for knowledge of greater self awareness and healing and the power to carry on the message and raise awareness.

12. Having had a rude awakening as a result of these steps, we carry this message to victims, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

I practically grew up in the 12 step program (dad in AA, mom in Alanon when I was a kid). Those 12 steps are like a part of me (a part I sometimes wish would go away but DAMN they are just too useful and true). I get the feeling they are quite familiar to you as well :D . I'm in . . . when is the next meeting :D ?

Brieseis...

Actually traumatized by the 12 steps cause it seems he was too focused on the 13th but manipulated and used the program and the steps to get there...if you know what I mean... In hindsight probably the kind of guy to say, well yea, I stole your chain and sold your mom on the corner as a hooker, but the God of my understanding will forgive me once I forgive myself because afterall I am powerliess over my addiction and I hope to get to step four soon so I can make amends but until then, I must find myself and take a moral suppository...I mean inventory of all my character defects which actually are all manifested because of YOU MICHELE, you make me do these things, but you do understand I am an addict don't you? And you either stand for something or fall for anything at least everyday, one day at a time. So, after all that shit Brieseis, can you kinda understand why I might want to blow up NA meeting halls the same way anti-abortion protesters blow up clinics??? See, the anti abortion protesters are out of their sculls...I believe there are a number of PD/Narcs in these meetings, I think I'd be hailed a hero, but don't want to run the risk of jail time... I hate it!

Ahh . . . there was a

Ahh . . . there was a discussion on one of Jen's threads about "spiritual" Narcs . . . and a 12 Step Narc should be included in there. My father was my first Narc and he was the alcoholic/drug addict. My sister and I were "forced" to go to Alateen meetings, but we ended up liking them because of the boys :D We'd get ourselves a boy and go up in the church belfry and make out till the meeting was over :D . I GET that, what a Narc can do to twist a neutral (or even beautiful) spiritual or self help idea into something disgusting and worthy of a neutron bomb. Come to think of it, it is Narc-ness that contaminates any ideology, political, spiritual or otherwise. It is narcissism and psychopathy that fed into what happened with Hitler an Mao Tsetung, or the abortion clinic murders. The idea itself is either neutral or indeed helpful and good. It's what people DO with the idea, and if they are malignantly narcissistic, the idea as it comes through them is evil.
