Nervous about court

I completely know what your talking about hitandrun. I went down to file a restraining order against my exN because he was harassing me via text. I couldnt even show up to court b/c i could not see this person. I can never escape what he has done to me. The thought of ever seeing him again makes me physically ill. Stay strong and dont cave. No money is worth your sanity

Went to court 5 times over the children. Made a mistake at first as I was too nice, it was only weeks after the split and I didn't understand what was going on in my head. What was the most unbelievable experience for me at the time was his LYING. Had no idea at that point that he could lie so much. Best advice I can give is, don't look at him or in his direction. The judge will be watching your reactions. Don't react to ANYTHING. Don't speak unless you are made to and keep this short and to the point. Don't put him down personally, only give facts that you can prove. Don't give any opinions about him, just facts. When he lies, just look down and if you have the facts to prove his lies you will be given your time to put this across. Keep it short and precise. Just to say in the 5 times we went, he NEVER won, even with his snotty aggressive lying bitch barrister. If he has a barrister she/he will try and push ALL your buttons to react. Don't take the bait EVER.

And not even a good one at that. Pretend he's another other narcissistic a-hole. Pretend he's mine. If you have to look at him, look *past* him, if you understand my meaning. Like you're looking right through him. Smile coolly, be pleasant and polite, but brisk and attentive to what's going on around you. Answer questions, but remain calm and confident and in control of yourself. Hold yourself up, chin tilted *ever* so slightly so that you look in completely control without looking aloof. I'm sending good thoughts that you win. Even if you don't, you're done with this jerk. He has no power over you. He's just a man. That's all he is. To quote Apollo Creed from one of the Rocky movies, "So be MORE man than him!" Yeah, sorry, I'm a geek. Good luck, sweetie.

Why do you have court again? I'm sorry I can't remember. It has to do with money right? Is it enough money to go through having to see him again? You have every right to get justice from him, of course!
