A narc free christmas

Christmas time is nearly here
for some it won't be happy
cos most of us are out of cheer
without our narcy chappy

I refuse to dwell on that
at least while I write this rhyme
no more am I a front door mat
for such a piece of slime

I'm adamant he won't spoil this
festive time for me
last year I thought it was such bliss
but it was a fantasy

this year I am on my own
nursing a broken heart
but I have not been turned to stone
just because we're now apart

I'm determined to make this
a christmas filled with hope
not dwelling on the things I miss
a personality disordered dope

I'll deck my halls with holly
cook a dinner unsurpassed
will not serve it to a wally
and will try to have a blast

then will come the new year
time to wipe the slate all clean
go into it without any fear
what has been is now a has been

2011 is drawing nigh
I'll embrace it and be bold
a few more tears I'm sure I'll cry
but my soul I won't have sold
