"Monogamy is Failing Men"

I read a ridiculous article this morning, on Huffington Post, about how "Monogomy is Failing Men". A MALE researcher says that 78% of his subject sample cheat, not because they do not love their partners, and want a secure long term relationship, but because men are just programed to want to have sex with multiple partners, and they get bored, and desire variety. In his opinion, what is wrong is not the desire of the men, but the desire of society and women to be in monogamous relationships. We should just all accept that we can have exciting, random, sexual hookups, and that is normal behavior, and there should be no break up of relationships over such a insignificant thing. We women are just too harsh on the poor men, who are incapable of overcoming their biological imperative. And we, too, should just hook up when we want to, even though those very same men may want us to be monogamous, too. Really.

What a crock!!!! When our ancestors chose to rise up out of the muck and walk on two legs, they formed social circles which benefited all members of the circle, and the primary one was to mate and be secure in that relationship. To raise children, you ideally have two parents, both working for the benefit and protection of the children. One parent just doesn't say to the other -- "Oh honey, you stay here and change diapers and wipe noses and bottoms -- I'm off to celebrate my biological imperative! See you later, no guilt!" Affairs cost time and money, and all of that comes out of the pot that is supposed to take care of the primary unit. And there is that little disease issue. "Honey, I'm home, and guess what, I brought you a STD!" How heartwarming that is.

Men are complete idiots if they think they can have an affair with no problems. They are selfish and childish, and what it tells us is that they only value their own wishes and desires and we can count on them for absolutely nothing. Women are foolish to enter into a relationship with a man, knowing little about him, and most of all not knowing for CERTAIN that he is not in a relationship with another woman. If he has children to support, from another relationship, you need to honor him supporting them FIRST, because if he won't do that for those children, he certainly won't do that for you or yours. If he cheated before, he will find a way to justify cheating again. WAKE UP!!! Don't believe this drivel. Monogamy may not be perfect, but it is the best way to sustain a relationship and raise a family if you have one.

Don't allow men to make you a convenient booty call for them, don't kid yourself that you are getting "what you want" from the relationship with someone who is not really there. Sex is fun, but it can have a horrible down side, too. A few minutes of entertainment can lead to a lifetime of heartbreak. Think about it -- establish your boundaries and stick to them. It is the only way to protect yourself in a world of predators, who are out hunting for places to practice their biological imperative. Stay strong and fierce, and protect yourself. That is your MORAL IMPERATIVE !!!
