thanks! I have my two little guys so I just have to do aerobics in one shot you know? If I had my way of course I would alternate upper and lower body weightlifting on different days but I have to tell you, for me to even get out with the kids is a miracle. So what I'm doing is cardio 45 minutes, then I go the circuit room and go around the equipment for about 20 minutes.

You can walk or march in place at home while you cook or watch TV. You do not have to run, just get heart going - twice a day stimulates metabolism - i see lots of overweight people doing one long aerobic session - they are strong and fit but they do not lose weight. Their bodies get used to the routine - you have to trick it if its weight loss you want...

I'm gonna shut my big fat mouth. I thought about what you said about just getting in the smaller sessions which I had originally turned down due to my time constraints, and I started the yoga routine thinking I would do about fifteen minutes and it ended up being 45. So thank you! and SORRY

Thanks but I've lost 62 pounds doing aerobics in one shot, so I am ok with how I need to do things but THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in for the exercise thing

I sooooo need this. The only time I can work out is right away, in the morning, after I take my daughters to school. But I haven't been doing it because--and this is really childish and embarrassing--I want to look great when the narc sees me in the morning. So I don't want to wear sweats and stuff, as I don't look good in them. Stupid, right? I will definitely join in on this. Great idea!

Heldweller I know! It's always to make sure you look good for them isn't it? And today I am really depressed and really do not want to go to the gym but I'm going damnit right now. Snce my narc is gone that doesn't matter anymore...what matters is my health at 45 with two little kids I'd like to be there for. YAY!!!! THANK YOU FOR JOINING! I can't promise but i need the discipline of having to report too due to lethargy from this N experience. I am in my 50's but taught fitness and dance conditioning for over 15 years and have been extremely athletic all my life. I am on vacation sort of in a beautiful place (i am working part time while on vacation) and cannot get myself to swim or hike - things that make me very happy! However, i am doing the one sport that I love but that is only twice a week for an hour each time - not enough to stay fit. I am doing something pretty exciting soon - going to a place I have never been before to train with the top trainer in the united states in the sport I do before I return to the city I work in. This is the first positive and new experience that I have set up for myself since the big D last Fall. I am also so excited that I am still competitive in this sport as I took a 30 year break before I returned to it. I am training to compete again right now and do not want to embarrass myself when I go meet this big time trainer. I will be happy to give you fitness tips Patiencegoal as this stuff comes naturally to me - but I need support too because I am lazy and not doing my best to stay fit even though I have a wonderful goal ahead. this sport is saving me from going nuts by the way!!

Awesome so you're in I take it?! I would love your tips. I have been a weightlifter for many years so I think I'm ok with that and I alternate elliptical with hiking on the treadmill, but honestly yoga has changed the shape and look of my body more than anything. It's incredible. So I will start now with my pledge for tomorrow: 50 minutes cardio at gym and after that 20 min nautilus circuit. will report back tomorrow to confirm! YAY!!!!!!!!

p.s.

...and if we fail to get the exercise we planned due to depression over the narc, we tell the group this and tell the group why (with no judgement of course). If practical things happen like a car breaking down or a sick child that would not be necessary to post I should think. But if it has to do with depression, the narc, or other emotional issues I think it would be amazingly helpful for the group to discuss what got in the way of taking care of ourselves.
