Inhuman, inhuman, inhuman...INHUMAN!

He told a friend we both know that he may be terminally ill and is going back and forth to doctors and that is why I haven't heard from him. The friend reported the seriousness to me and I felt terrible. Am I supposed to respond to this? What if it's true?

Could it be a (sick) ploy to get me to contact him?

I don't know what the truth is anymore. He's a monster, right? I shouldn't contact him, right? Sometimes everything feels so mixed up. I keep saying NC, NC, NC over and over again.

WHAT IF IT'S TRUE? Am I the monster?

Here's what I don't get.... if he is really dying--he has made it a priority to try to get supply from me? This is very sick. I usually try to look at things through the eyes of others. That has always been my problem. Always forgiving him and trying to see things his way. So I am looking at this situation and imagining if a doctor just told me I was terminally ill. I would be consumed with the fact of my own demise, not trying to guilt other people. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

You shouldn't contact him, right. You most certainly are NOT a monster for doing so. I hate to sound heartless, but why is this friend reporting this stuff back to you?? Part of NC is telling your friends you don't want to hear it and they should respect that. This man nearly destroyed you, and you are working like hell to recover...sounds similar to a terminal disease?? That it is a daily struggle to work on recovery??? Where is the sympathy and recognition for YOU ailing so much through all of this??????? Is he rushing to YOUR side to help you heal from these awful wounds...errr, that HE caused??? You already put your mind, body, soul, and spirit into this man who never appreciated it and used you. It's really up to you...I don't have that type of compassion for the man who nearly ruined me. Sorry, this was very triggering, as you can likely see!

they PLAY on the fact that we ARE human and have compassion. Personally I think it's a ploy. IGNORE. AND BLOCK HIS EMAILS, CALLS, etc. if he's dying - he's an adult - let the people he hasn't used & crapped on support him. You've already given! If he had new supply and heard you were sick - do you think he'd contact you with sympathy and support? Do YOU? so who's really the monster here? Dont do it!

If you have to worry if he is making it up then there is your answer. Even if it's true he doesn't deserve your concern. Think about this....if you had terminal illness would he run to your bedside? I doubt it! Don't do it!
